A Star is Born- Music, lost souls and the ultimately tragedy

Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper undeniable chemistry masterly fuels a memorable love story.

The open scene is a vision of a badass country-rocker, Jackson Maine (Bradley Cooper) playing “Black Eyes”, we feel like he owns the role, that only could be him to experience the skin of the tormented and brilliant musician, shadowed by the ghost of addiction.

Lady Gaga looks stunning without makeup. Yes, indeed a star is reborn! Her bare face allows us to totally buy into Ally’s character, every single pore of emotion is intense and unforgettable. We flourish with her that starts as a disbeliever singer-songwriter and evolves to a full-on artist facing the ups and downs of the music industry.

The film is daunting real; I felt chills when Ally (Lady Gaga) sings “La Vie en Rose” in a drag bar, at this moment we can definitely expect a unique interpretation with flairs of old Hollywood glamour.

Jackson’s (Bradley Cooper) fascination for Ally is captivating and allures the actor's flawless and striking performance. Cooper also directed, produced, co-wrote the script and contributed to song composition, a promising debut for the Oscar nominee.

The two hours feature is shot with an intimist approach lead by strong close-ups that deeply connect the audience with the couple’s trajectory through idyllic romance, song-writing, stardom and substance-abuse.

Frank Sinatra, “The Voice” is referred more than once in the drama, another element that contributes to a rich narrative embedded by the rawness of pure music, the bond between two lost souls that find each other in the hard squares of life.

The director, Bradley Cooper, thrill us with perfect cinematic symbiosis and an exquisite soundtrack pulled from heart and soul.

“A Star is Born” portraits talent with joy, inspiration and hope. After all, “maybe is time to let the old days dye” and embrace change.
